“Celebrate the Hall” Mesquite Arts Council Presents Chamber Singers in their first performance of the year, entitled “I was Glad”. The evening musical offering will include Daniel Pinkham’s I was Glad as well as a potpourri of other well known favorites. Guest vocalist include Lucy Tamez Creech, Natalie Arduino and, David Grogan with piano accompaniment by Brian Bentley. The music will be performed in an informal concert fashion. HOW TO ACCESS A FREE E-MAIL ACCOUNT class offered from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. at the Mesquite North Branch Library, 2600 Oates Drive. The class will include setting up an e-mail account with Yahoo, Google or MSN. Students will learn to compose, send, read, forward and delete e-mails. There will be an explanation of the parts of an e-mail address, including the name, domain and extensions. E-mail etiquette and security issues will also be addressed. KC and the Sunshine Band to Headline Foundation Gala The Mesquite ISD Education Foundation proudly presents A Lone Star Legacy, featuring music super group KC and the Sunshine Band live in concert on March 26, 2010. The Foundation's fourth annual benefit concert and dinner will be held at Resistol Arena (1818 Rodeo Drive, Mesquite). The gala dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by the concert at 8 p.m. KC and the Sunshine Band are still as widely popular today as they were when they first danced onto the music scene 37 years ago. Harry Wayne Casey - KC, for short - developed a unique fusion of R&B and funk, with a hint of a Latin percussion groove, giving us an impressive string of hits like Get Down Tonight, That's The Way (I Like It) and Shake Your Booty. Concert-only tickets are on sale now and may be purchased for $20 and $30 at www.ticketmaster.com or at the Resistol Arena ticket booth. Table sponsorships, which include dinner prior to the concert, begin at $1,000; individuals or groups may sponsor a table by calling Foundation Executive Director Linda Lentz at 972-882-7513. Spring Eggstravaganza Saturday March 27 10-11:30 a.m. Evans Recreation Center Join the fun as the Parks and Recreation Department hosts the annual egg hunt. Infants to 9 year olds can enjoy the festivities. The guest of honor has planned several activities for the entire family to enjoy. The Bunny and crew will be available for pictures for a small fee.
